Welcome to the Santa Barbara Sea website. Santa Barbara Sea is a non-profit and hands-on organization dedicated to the enhancement and restoration of the fisheries in the Santa Barbara area. We work with the Ocean Resource Enhancement and Hatchery Program (OREHP) to help increase the depleted stock of wild White Seabass in the ocean waters of the Southern California Bight. We are also an advocacy group working to restore our coastal watersheds and improve ocean water quality.

White Seabass Project
As an organization that advocates the enhancement and restoration of fisheries in the Santa Barbara County area, and provides education to the community on important issues affecting our fisheries, we feel it is especially important that a concerted effort is made by SB Sea and our members to maintain an active and informed role in the process of managing our very unique and precious marine environment. To this end, in an attempt to present a balanced and impartial exposure to the many facets of the debate on marine reserves. We hope to provide facts for our members so we can all contribute—to make a difference—in the public process of cooperative fisheries management.
